On February 13th, the California Department of Child Support Services (CA DCSS) hosted a delegation from Taiwan organized by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office based in San Francisco. The delegation included representatives from the Taiwan legislature, professors from Taiwan universities, as well as advocates for youth and gender equality in Taiwan. The 14-member delegation visited ten different state and local organizations in the Sacramento-area focused on health and human services, including Sacramento County Department of Child Support Services, the California Department of Health Care Services, as well as UC Davis Children’s Hospital, seeking to learn about how we run these programs.
The CA DCSS Executive team provided the delegation a historical background of the Child Support Program within the United States and in the State of California to provide context of the evolution of how the child support system exists today. The delegation then got a chance to ask specific questions of the Executive team about the Child Support Program.
