Organizational Change Management (OCM) activities are ramping up at the Department of Child Support Services (DCSS)! The OCM Team has been busy helping support the ‘people side of change’ while we also test our OCM methodology, tools and templates on our two pilot projects.
The Communications Improvement Plan Project, which seeks to improve communication within DCSS and between DCSS and the local child support agencies (LCSAs), is gaining traction. This is OCM’s second pilot project to test and refine the OCM Methodologies we have been using at DCSS. We are happy to announce that Director David Kilgore jumped at the opportunity to be the Executive Sponsor for this project. To help David with this project, he will be working closely with Mike Dorsey from the Office of Enterprise Project Management who has 20 years of project management experience and 18 years with the Child Support Program. Stay tuned for more information as this project gets up and running!
Our other OCM pilot project is the Forms Modernization Project, which seeks to implement the changes needed to support Assembly Bill 976, as well as, a delivery method, structure and governance to support electronic filing. As part of our OCM activities, we developed the Forms Modernization Project News publication to share more information about each of the supporting sub-projects, accomplishments and key benefits. In addition, we will continue to spotlight an employee with each publication, so you can get to know the individuals working hard for this effort. So be sure to keep an eye out for the next Forms Modernization Project News publication.
We also rolled out an OCM Leadership Library that houses resources to support leaders in their critical change role. Active and visible participation of senior leadership is cited as the #1 contributor to success (per over 20 years of Prosci® studies). We filled the library with case studies, helpful videos, presentations and articles and will work with leadership to build this out based on their needs.
Stay tuned for more information about these projects as they move forward.
