Yuba County Department of Child Support Services Gets the Blues

By: Kayleen Carter

On April 20, staff at the Yuba County Department of Child Support Services (Yuba DCSS) donned blue clothing and ribbons to honor Child Abuse Prevention Month. The one-day “Go Blue” event was held in collaboration between Yuba DCSS and Casa De Esperanza—a local domestic shelter for battered women-to show solidarity in the prevention and awareness of child abuse. The concept originally came from a grandmother who could not find help for her abused grandchild, the color blue was used to symbolize the color of the child’s bruises.
