The California Department of Child Support Services Office of Communications and Public Affairs (CA DCSS OCPA) has created a series of short videos addressing the most frequently asked questions from child support participants. The purpose of these videos is to inform the user in a quick, easy and accessible way about the services offered and the steps involved when obtaining child support. The videos are brief – about a minute long – and use clear and informal language so that users can get answers and know where to go for more information. Some of the first video topics include “How can I avoid going to court?” and “How is child support calculated?” These videos can be shared on social media, embedded in posts and on webpages, and can be viewed on YouTube. OCPA is also working on a set of longer videos, which dive into the more complex child support processes—these videos will be approximately 2-3 minutes long.
When completed, these projects will provide a comprehensive Video Resource Library to educate viewers on the processes and programs offered through the California Child Support Program. So, stay tuned!
